There is a significant body of research around effective ways to help individuals recover from depression. As well as working with the client to reduce the symptoms of depression, a clinician will work with clients to ensure they have the skills to manage their disorder effectively and reduce the risk of relapse once therapy has been completed.
The clinician will also help clients identify the links between their feelings, their thoughts, and their behaviour, so that any unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaviour can be addressed as necessary.
